Has won awards.

The long version..

Jackie Marshall is a whirlwind of creativity, a multidisciplinary artist, and a “left field legend in the making” (Martin Jones, Rhythms Magazine). With her bold spirit and diverse talents, Jackie shines as an acclaimed musician, songwriter, poet, illustrator, and actor. Currently serving as an Artist in Residence at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology, she loves to push boundaries with what art can communicate.

In 2024, Jackie released her fourth full-length album, You Are Not Too Much And You Are Enough, which has garnered serious critical acclaim nationally. The album doubled as an innovative nod to the soundtrack for the feature film, Three Chords And The Truth, and was independently recorded with the support of Match Lab and generous private supporters. Jackie also starred in Three Chords And The Truth, for which she was nominated for a Septimius Award after it made waves at prestigious festivals like the Brisbane International Film Festival and Sydney Film Festival. This heartfelt film, which resonates deeply with themes of breast cancer, mentorship, and women’s stories, had a successful cinema run across Australia and was recently showcased at the Aichi International Women’s Film Festival in Japan. The film is now available to view on numerous streaming platforms.

Her prior releases, including the alt-country gem Lilith Shrugs and the collaborative powerhouse Ladies' Luck, followed her striking debut Fight nFlight, which earned a spot on the Australian Music Prize shortlist.

Her artistic journey is marked by collaborations with an impressive array of talents—from the legendary Sean Sennett to the experimental hybrid circus works of Chelsea McGuffin. Jackie has worked on projects that illuminate the stories of Australian servicemen’s families, collaborating with songwriters like Roz Pappalardo and Kristy Apps.

In April 2024, Jackie returned to Japan for a brief tour, culminating in the inaugural LOVE & PEACE concert in Nagoya, honouring her roots as a devotee of the ’60s Peace Movement. With her eclectic talents and passionate approach, Jackie Marshall is not just an artist; she’s a vibrant force in the music and arts community. As The Weekend Australian aptly puts it, she’s “That rare thing: an Aussie original.”
